Today started with pre-breakfast (there are so many more than 3 meals a day on this ship! pre-breakfast is served early and consists of coffee, juice, pastries, fruit and yogurt!) and a photography walk on the Espumilla Beach with our photo instructor Fernando. At first it didn't seem like there was much going on, but things picked up as the blue footed boobies started fishing for their breakfast, and a pair of hawks landed on the beach and allowed us to photograph them from only a few feet away.
We were back on the ship by 8am, headed in for 2nd breakfast (eggs, bacon, cereal bar, crepes, fruit!) and then turned around and headed back out the door at 9:15am for sea kayaking in Buccaneer Cove, and right after that we headed out for some deep sea snorkeling. Like every day here, the snorkeling was phenomenal and we saw a lot of amazing fish as well as a white tipped reef shark. After that we headed back to the ship for lunch, which was then followed by an ice cream sundae bar.
In the afternoon, we went out to a different beach at Puerto Egras, and hiked a short loop trail to visit a sight where fur seals are common. We did run into fur seals, most of whom were sleeping. More than that though, I've become completely obsessed with bird watching which you'll see in my photos.
